Marisa & Zenon Fall Wedding at Foundations of Carolina

October 12, 2025

An overcast day in October started at The Ivey in downtown Charlotte. Marisa & Zenon wanted a very chill lowkey day, and that is exactly what they got! They wanted to prioritize time with family and friends and less on pictures with a more documentary edit. I always tell my couples that the way I shoot weddings follows their lead. Your wedding day is about you and what you want. There are some couples who LOVE photos and want all the posed photos and an hour of couples portraits, and others who want at least one good portrait of them, plus some candids. There are in between, and all of that comes from the couple, their engery and what they want. I am the first one to tell couples they can do whatever they want on their wedding day! It’s their day, and I’m there to capture it however they spend it!

Some of my favorite parts of the day: First off, ending their reception to My Chemical Romance’s “The Black Parade.” was such a highlight for everyone. The music was banging the whole night and even included Hannah Montana and High School Musical snuck in there as well.

The Foundations of Carolina is such a fun venue to shoot at. The museum downstairs is stunning, usually in buildings like this you are heavily limited with natural light, but there was so many walls of glass letting natural light in on the venue floor is was so stunning.

Marisa had the guest build her bouquet as they came into the venue. There was a table set up before the elevators with different stems of flowers in vases for guests to choose to put into the bride’s bouquet.

Shot on both medium format & 35 mm film with digital as well. They’re wedding day was one for the books!
