The Chapel Hill Country Club | Chapel Hill, North Carolina

Dory and Heath tied the knot at The Chapel Hill Country Club in Chapel Hill which featured a classic but southern charm. The two met in their high school Latin class and dated throughout college. Once Dory finished graduate school, Heath surprised her with an intimate walk down Folly Beach in Charleston, South Carolina, where he got down on one knee and proposed. Dory was so surprised and over the moon to celebrate that moment with him in private at their favorite beach. Later that same day, their families celebrated her graduate school ceremony and their recent engagement. It was perfect timing.

Something Blue and Something Classic

When choosing a location for their southern charm wedding, the couple knew they wanted something close to home and heart. So, without hesitation, they decided on the Chapel Hill Country Club for their special day because of the childhood memories they both experienced there. Dory and Heath are from Chapel Hill, and the city represents a special part of them. When choosing the colors and details for their wedding, Dory selected her favorite color, mist blue for the bridesmaid gowns and classic black tuxedos for the men. They wanted their wedding to be very traditional and detailed to include everything they loved.

Wedding Day at Chapel Hill

Dory and Heath got ready inside the beautiful room suites at the Country Club. When it was time for their ceremony, the weather began pouring down, so they moved their outdoor ceremony to a basement room. Guests were greeted by a live band as they eagerly took their seats. The couple loves live music, so they prioritized incorporating it throughout their wedding. At their reception, they danced and celebrated with all their friends and family who supported their union. The live band added a unique touch to their wedding day, alongside their decision to have food stations for dinner and forego the traditional sit-down seating arrangements. After cutting the cake, Dory changed into a short classic dress, and the two exited with sparklers and into a classic car!
