Ashley & Yuri’s Maxwell Raleigh NC Colorful Wedding was such a fun summer wedding! Ashley & Yuri met while attending the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, and their love story has taken them all over the country since. Even though they met at UNC, Yuri is from Ohio, and Ashley attended Ohio State for two years of college, so it’s funny as she transferred to a North Carolina school to meet a boy from Ohio.

The Maxwell bright and airy venue space was the perfect backdrop for their classic Carolina blue with hot pink florals. Shot on both Film & Digital photography, it was such a beautiful August day.

The Ceremony

We were blessed with 80-degree weather for their outdoor ceremony under their beautiful Chuppah. They shared their own vows, with Yuri calling out his now-wife for being the “badass” that she is. After their first kiss as husband and wife, they ended their ceremony with the Jewish tradition of smashing the glass as the crowd cheered out “Mazel tov.”

Tell me all about why you chose your wedding venue.

Getting married in North Carolina, most options are country clubs or barns – this was the best venue that we felt captured more of our spirit than either a barn or country club could. We’ve also loved how friendly and welcoming the staff are and have felt great with our choice since selecting.

Share your inspiration and the atmosphere you are creating for your wedding.

Our main goal is to have this wedding be a celebration of fun and capture all the fun times that we had together and will continue to have. We want guests to feel welcomed and invited at all turns and make sure that they have as fun a time with us as we do with them.

What is your most valuable advice to share with future couples?

Make sure y’all find the fun! Be comfortable in voicing your opinions & conversely, make sure that you actively listen to one another. Also – don’t keep score.

What are you looking forward to on your wedding day?

Once we finish the first dance, Yuri looks forward to relaxing, enjoying the band, dancing his butt off with Ashley, and being surrounded by friends and family we love. Ashley is most excited about “making our little fam official.”

What are you most excited about in this new chapter in your life?

Continuing to cultivate a loving and nurturing home for ourselves and our family for years to come. Hopefully, being able to do this in a home we love. Being able to continue to bother one another incessantly 🙂
