Megan and Ben had the most wondrous Charleston engagement session with the azure seascape as their background. Their goal was to make it as personal as possible because they wanted these memorable photographs to reflect their love story. Shooting their special moments was a real treat, considering they knew exactly what they wanted and had no problems communicating their ideas. They made everything so easy, so it is no wonder their photos turned out magical! 

Glorious Sunrise Hours For an Ethereal Charleston Engagement Session

We started the Charleston engagement session early in the morning. Megan and Ben wanted to enjoy the sunrise hour and achieve that stunning effect in their shots. I loved how they had this wonderful idea and did not mind getting ready while the whole city was asleep. 

The first part of the photoshoot took place at the beach. They did not pick any beach but the one where they got engaged. It was a special place for them, so they ensured to leave a special trace there. That beach was a spot where Megan said “yes” to Ben, and they started planning their life together. In other words, the beach was the place where their lives took another turn, and a new chapter began. 

We used the amazing spaciousness of the beach to take some spectacular shots while the sun was enlightening the ground around us. As their South Carolina engagement photographer, I suggested taking some spontaneous photos, and they were not opposed to the idea. Of course, they turned out magical! 

However, we also used the pier for some shots because that was the actual place where the proposal took place. It was certainly a must-place to take a few photos as they desired a touch of authenticity to their Charleston engagement photos. 

Megan and Ben wore light-colored clothes during the beach shooting to blend with the surroundings. It was the right decision because everything was in sync in their portraits. Plus, the energy they brought to the photo session was unparalleled, so the process just flowed smoothly. 

Embracing Charleston Beauty 

The couple decided to take a few shots on the streets of Charleston and depict the city’s beauty. I have always loved those natural shots captured on the streets, so I really enjoyed this part. The downtown Charleston engagement session was a great opportunity to frame some special moments and architecture’s beauty. The buildings served as a majestic backdrop to these marvelous photographs. 

Still, the highlight of the Charleston engagement session was the shooting at a coffee shop. Both Megan and Ben are java-lovers, which is their biggest mutual thing. They even planned to have a coffee bar for their wedding, so this part of the photoshoot was unavoidable. It simply has their names written all over it, and without it, the photo session would not have been complete. 

Being part of Ben and Megan’s big moments was a true honor, and I genuinely enjoyed this authentic experience. Their free spirits and openness made the whole Charleston engagement session truly unique. Being there to capture their love story was an amazing opportunity!
