The Carolina Grove | Hillsborough, North Carolina

Mackenzie and Kyle’s wedding day at The Carolina Grove featured a romantic airy color palette of blush, ivory, navy blue, and shades of taupe. The couple’s love story began with a dating app leading to a beautiful proposal from Kyle in front of the Kissing Bench on The University of North Carolinas campus where the two attended school.

From the beginning of their wedding planning journey, Mackenzie and Kyle wanted their special day to feel soft and romantic. With this intention, they chose colors that created a dreamy ambiance and used florals to tie in the colors of the wedding party wear. The pops of navy blue matched the groom and groomsmen’s tuxedos, while shades of brown neutrals complimented the taupe and terracotta bridesmaid’s dresses. The florals highlighted the gorgeous Carolina Grove venue, making it the best part of the planning process for Mackenzie.

Of all my weddings this year, this has been one of my favorites. I always love shooting at The Carolina Grove because the airy and modern venue is stunning year-round, and that day was no exception. The fall weather was perfect for Mackenzie and Kyle’s outdoor ceremony where they stood in front of the woodsy scenery. Later, I headed into the reception, so excited to capture the details of the decor and romantic atmosphere. The couple changed into sneakers, and everyone danced the night away and as a result, chairs hardly stayed filled. Finally, the wedding concluded with Mackenzie and Kyle embracing a private intimate dance. In the meantime, guests awaited outside to congratulate the newlyweds with a sparkler exit!

From beginning to end, I enjoyed being a part of Mackenzie and Kyle’s wedding day. Every vendor was amazing, including the hair and makeup team, who did phenomenally on the bridal party and in addition finished an hour AHEAD schedule. Without a doubt, this wedding is a fave in my book!
