Jessi and Dalton tied the knot on a bright spring day at Walnut Hill in Raleigh. The two met on Bumble and bonded over their love for beer and Mexican food. Soon it was clear that both had found “the one,” and Dalton planned a surprise proposal with the help of Jessi’s best girlfriends! Even the adorable pup they share, Neptune, got in on the fun with a “my humans are getting married” bandana. Neptune wore a similar bandana on the wedding day saying “she was mine first”

Wedding Day at Walnut Hill

When it came to choosing a location for their springtime affair, the couple quickly settled on Walnut Hill because of its GORGEOUS indoor and outdoor spaces. Plus, the grounds contained everything they needed so that no one had to worry about transportation during the day. Both got ready with their bridal parties inside Walnut Hill’s stunning estate house. They exchanged their vows with views of the pond, gazebo, and Hill House in the background. It was a little bit windy on their wedding day, but thanks to the sun we were able to stay warm on a slightly chilly March day. Later, they partied with their guests inside Walnut Hill’s bright and airy barn pavilion. The barn is any bride’s dream, featuring all the exposed beams, cafe lights, and clean white paint you could ever want! This venue is truly one of my favorites, and I can’t wait to shoot more weddings there!

Blue and White Details

Jessi and Dalton took the “something blue” adage seriously when planning the classic blue-and-white color scheme that carried throughout their day. Dalton and his wedding party dressed to the nines in dark blue suits. Dalton even paired his with a floral tie featuring blooms of robin’s egg blue, green, white, and yellow! Meanwhile, Jessi’s wedding party wore robin’s egg blue floor-length dresses. Later on, the same shades featured in the couple’s reception decor—including plastic bar cups that featured a drawing of little Neptune! The classic palette really helped to bring an air of cheerful springtime to the somewhat cloudy March day.
