Walnut Hill is one of my favorite venues in the area. Not only does it have gorgeous portrait locations, but it also has an abundance of space. Complete with TWO houses for wedding parties to get ready in, a reception Pavillion with heating and a/c, plus the options to open a wall for fresh air during the few months of good weather we have here, and multiple ceremony options. They have the rain plan down as well. The main reception space is a fully heated space; they also have a covered outdoor space with the pond in the backdrop. No need to have to worry about flipping your ceremony/reception space as a rain plan. There is also a large number of porches.
For a photographer, we say THANK YOU! Porches are our saving grace on rainy wedding days. Plus, there are so many, with wide & long options, it makes the perfect space for rainy-day portraits. Both houses are fully furnished with beds to host families & wedding parties overnight, and they even offer a weekend package for those looking to get a little bit extra! It is truly an in-a-million wedding venue.
Ceremony Sites
Ceremony spots in a garden, 2 in front of the ponds (one being ready in Spring 2022), and, as you’ll see here, one under the giant walnut tree in the front yard. As it’s become more popular, you can also have the option to host your dinner outside under the sky in a truly fun style and then host your dance floor and other reception fun in the Pavillion. This was one of the fun parts to shoot for the open house.
The parking lot is tucked away behind a crepe myrtle-lined driveway to the back of the property house. So no need to worry about cars showing up in your pictures. The sun set perfectly over the pond and dense tree line for picture-perfect opportunities all afternoon.
The Summer Open House
The summer open house for Walnut Hill was filled with dream-come-true colors & alfresco dining set up on the lawn. Designed by Timeless Love Events, they wanted to show off a few different options when it came to the venue. Citrus fruits with pops of peach, pink, yellow & oranges were inspiration & color pallete. Shot in the mid-morning (aka one of the worst times to photograph!), it still looked incredible under the hot summer sun. Expression of Love Florist wove these colorful blooms through lots of greenery, creating a garden Tuscan alfresco dining scape & ceremony space.
Check out this beautiful inspiration set up for Walnut Hill’s June Open House. There are so many possibilities for this venue. If you are planning a wedding in the area (or even far away) check out this beauty as soon as you can! A special shout out to my beautiful real bride of mine, Kaitlyn, for modeling for me!
