Sam & Martin | Traine Raleigh, NC Wedding
September 7, 2019
This past Saturday, Sam and Martin were married here in Raleigh NC! With a hurricane hitting the coast just days before their wedding, for the first time in 3 years of living in NC, it didn’t hit on a Saturday, so September 7 was an absolutely stunning sunny day! We started the day off at their house where Sam & her bridesmaids were getting ready for the day. There was a spread of Chick-fil-a nuggets, Krispy Kreme AND Dunkin donuts sounded like a great start to the day! Martin leaves Sam love notes every day, and Sam showed me a peek of the one he left on their wedding day. These two are just the sweetest to each other. I also had to sneak a picture of their dog, Piggy!
They were married at the beautiful White Memorial Presbyterian Church, where Sam shared a first look with her Dad, before getting ready to walk down the aisle. Martin said that he ALMOST lost is when Sam walked down the aisle, but made it through without crying. Sam’s wedding band was a surprise, so I loved her reaction when she saw her ring for the first time. The best man, Martin’s Dad, even hid it while handing it to Martin when the time came. Their ceremony was short & sweet with a special dedication of Amazing Grace for Sam’s grandfather. After a first kiss & walk back down the aisle, Sam & Martin got to spend some time celebrating with their wedding party and family before diving into family photos. The inside of the church photographed so beautifully, so we ended up taking some bridal party photos in there as well!
After a couple pictures in her ceremony dress, it was time to put on the party dress!!! We decided to do a little first look after she changed, and we couldn’t have asked for a better reaction than when Martin saw his WIFE in her strapless “ready to dance” dress! There was a beautiful little sun coming through the trees by the church so before they headed to the reception, we snapped some few in their reception gear.
The reception was decked out to the brim with alternating, navy, white & striped tables, topped with white florals & greenery galore! Sam & Martin got to share TWO first dances, as they danced into their entrance song, and their first dance song “Lady Soul” by The Temptations. There was a non-stop party thanks to the Legacy Band, and they ended up having to take out more tables to make room for almost every single guest out on the dance floor. One of the most shocking parts of the night was when Martin grabbed the mic and busted out EVERY verse of “Fresh Prince of Belair”, and it was amazing. Sam & her maid of honor Hannah, sang “Don’t Stop Believing” before the last song Sweet Caroline played, and the reception just flew by.
