Sometimes things don’t go as planned. I wish every Saturday was a beautiful glow worthy day, but you can’t control the weather. Just like on wedding days, you get what mother nature gives you, and sometimes you just gotta roll with it! I stalk weather every week, watching the days I have sessions, and a lot of times so do my clients. I wasn’t surprised when I got a worried email from Dustin about the rain that was going to be over Asheville on the day he picked out MONTHS ago for his proposal. We came up with a Plan B & Plan C, based on how bad the rain was. We were lucky that we were able to go with Plan B!

Back in August, Dustin and I met up to talk about his plan to surprise his girlfriend Taylor at Biltmore with a Proposal! They were going with Dustin’s family to Western North Carolina for the weekend and were planning her first-time visit to Biltmore. Little to Taylor’s knowledge, her family was heading to Biltmore that same day to share in the special occasion. Talk about planning! Not only did they have to keep away from each other all day, Dustin’s family had to sneak away and meet up with me to get in place for the proposal.

Dustin walked her down to the garden area, and under the covered walkway proposed to Taylor! Both of their families were watching from the end of the walkway and it was perfect. Rain or Shine, she said YES!

The next couple of minutes were full of hugs and tears! We headed over the Conservatory to dry off, and Taylor’s family brought her a hairbrush, hairspray, and some other items to get her camera ready (talk about an awesome family!) We went to a couple spots around Biltmore and got some great shots, before they headed off to dinner with their whole family!
