It all started with an email back in the beginning of September. Russell had been planning on proposing to his girlfriend Sara for quite some time now, and after his original plan to propose over labor day was thwarted by a girls trip to Chicago, he came up with a new plan. A trip to Charleston and to propose in one of the best spots in Downtown, the Pineapple Fountain!
Proposals are one of my favorite things to shoot, they give me butterflies in my stomach and it just an amazing moment for this romantic’s heart to witness. The park was full of photographers, and lucky me I had the perfect guise of taking photos of Amelia (my daughter) as I spotted Sara and Russell walking towards the fountain. The fountain was a hot spot for tourist visiting, and I had seen dozens of people crowding around taking selfies. Suddenly the crowds cleared and Russell got down on one knee. It was perfect!
- After a few minutes Russell pointed me out across the lawn!
- What a stunning ring!!! Sara kept repeating “it’s perfect” over and over again!
After a good couple minutes of hugging, and chatting about how Russell pulled it off, we had a surprise engagement session around of the best areas of Charleston!
- Sara and Russell were so funny and relaxed! I love that they weren’t afraid to be themselves in front of the camera!
- “I hate us” a term also repeated so many times, because they were “that” couple who was so incredibly in love & adorable together.
- A special shot for Sara’s Mom! Her mom’s engagement ring next to hers!
