So there is another new iPhone out!! Yay for us Apple lovers.
I’ve had my lovely iPhone 6 for quite some time, and after having Amelia I was taking more and more photos on my phone. It was hard to pull out my camera for everyday use, so it was agreed that when the new iPhone came out I would get either the 7 or 8, depending on the details of the phone. Last Friday I pre-ordered my new iPhone 8 Plus and anxiously awaited for UPS to pull up with my phone today.
I decided to do a little photoshoot with Amelia to compare the new gadget!
So here is my normal for pictures of Amelia. Shooting on my Nikon D750 with my 50mm. Look at those two teeth coming through!
Isn’t she just the cutest thing ever!
Next, I tested out my new phone. On the left is a normal picture on the iphone vs the portrait mode with studio lighting option.
Nikon D750 50mm on left vs iPhone Portrait Mode with Studio lighting
Below is iPhone portrait mode with the natural lighting options on the left with my Nikon. The portrait mode is okay, but I much prefer the amazing depth of field and bokeh from my Nikon. The iPhone looks almost like an okay quick selection and blur tool on photoshop.
and last but not lease the “contour” lighting. I’m sure it’s meant for all us girls, but it definitely does its job correctly. I’m a little excited to try this feature out on myself.
I will definitely be sticking to my Nikon for all of Amelia’s milestone photos, but I’m glad to have a lot better phone photos and everyday photos of my sweet girl. The studio lighting option is definitely my favorite so far. I’ll be having fun playing with everything on my new phone the next couple of days!
I can’t get over this little face!!!
