It is always an honor to be asked to shoot for another photographer. When one of my close photographer friends’ brothers was getting married, I was so excited that Krista of Krista Stevens Photography asked me if I would shoot the wedding for her. She was going to be a maid of honor, as not only was it her brother’s wedding, but Libby is one of her best friends. Us photographers are picky, so when you get the nod of approval from a fellow wedding photographer AND the couple, you know they trust you. So why Krista got to sit back and relax, aka be a bridesmaid, chase her flower girl children, and do the worm, she got to gift doing all the backend work of this wedding to her brother and sister in law, by editing & doing all the timeline etc. It was a little nice to get to just show up as a lead shooter, do my thing, hand over memory cards and be on my way BUT I shot 5 rolls of film at this wedding, and I just loved the digitals so much I ended up picking some of my favorites to edit myself! SO here is so of my favorites from Libby & Braden’s wedding day!
I was actually spoiled with some of my favorite wedding vendors for this day as well. The Upchurch is one of my favorite venues in the Raleigh area. It was obviously designed by a wedding photographer and is so easy to shoot at. Bright & white spaces indoor with character, and gorgeous outdoor spaces and endless options to shoot at. It started off with Wedded Kiss for hair and makeup. I’ve known Nina since 2018, and I haven’t met a part of her team that doesn’t do an amazing job since. When the florals arrived, everyone was in love. Once Gathered is one of the best florists on the East Coast. Their ability to transform any space, ranging anywhere from southern traditional to garden whimsy, they are true magicians. I couldn’t asked for a better vendor team.
The mood was so calm and relaxed the morning of the wedding. Libby shared an emotional first look with her Dad, and with Braden. Libby & Braden are both born and bred Cary, and married at their home church a short drive away from The Upchurch.
Libby & Braden brought the fun as well. With a white Cadillac Getaway car, a DJ who kept the party going not only from his booth, but with roller skates on the floor, and Mr. Canoli walking around the dance floor piping fresh canolis for the guest. There was no stopping this party.
