Separk Mansion | A Great Gatsby Wedding

This wedding has been a long time coming!!! After Hurricane Florence made them postpone their wedding, they had a beautiful wedding this past Monday on Columbus Day! Sarah and Zach met while attending Western Carolina University, at a local bar (only realizing that they matched on tinder later!) which we got quite a hilarious story from Mike, the best man, of that night during his toast.

Sarah and Zach had a gorgeous Great Gatsby/20’s themed wedding, which was present in so many details, from the reception details to Sarah’s own personal details, and their venue choice. Sarah’s engagement ring is one of my favorite pieces as it is one of Zach’s family heirlooms from the 40’s (and the history nerd in me LOVES it!) I was also a big fan of Zach’s snitch cufflinks!

Before Sarah got dressed, Sophie, Sarah’s niece & flower girl, got to put on Sarah’s princess dress, which she was so excited to do! Sophie was one of the most behaved & cooperative flower girls, and she is only 2 years old! Sarah and Zach shared a first look on their wedding day, which was oh so special! I was so glad that we were able to do their portraits then because it down-poured immediately following their ceremony! They had a very quick & emotional ceremony, but I loved their processional & recessional songs, which were from Tangled & Harry Potter (two amazing choices!) Their sunny & beautiful outdoor ceremony was so perfect. After completing quick extended family photos we felt raindrops, and immediately dashed inside before the curtain of rain reached us. We did some quick portraits inside before getting Sarah bustled & having them enjoy their cocktail hour with their guests.

After they were introduced Sarah and Zach shared a first dance, that was so fun and choreographed! After dinner Mike & Maddie, the best man and maid of honor gave speeches that were so funny! Dinner was absolutely delicious and their photo booth was extremely popular, there were people in there every time I looked, and the props were very popular, somehow ending up on the dance floor.
